Why I’m Running for County Legislator
I love our city and building our community despite the mountain we have to climb.
My heart breaks for this community, especially when I see blighted properties, littered streets, struggling schools, and increased crime. It saddens me to see people living in substandard housing, businesses struggling to stay open, and landlords treating tenants only as a number on their spreadsheets. Above all else, what burdens my heart the most is seeing people exist in a neighborhood without belonging to a community.
However, I know having a heart for the community is not enough so I always look for ways to be part of the solution. Our city needs leaders that take action because a vision without action is just a dream. That is why I’m running.
My way to better the community is to increase the safety and walkability of our neighborhoods, bring diversity and growth to local commerce so they can give back, and help residents to feel that they belong through community involvement and recreational outlets for family and youth.
The people in Syracuse are beautiful–not only the ones that share my views but also the ones that don’t, and I’m eager to listen to all the diverse voices by bringing everyone to the table.
Yes, we do have a mountain to climb, but we can do it together!
