Stephen Skinner understands the damaging effect of blighted properties.
"Neighborhood blight and the presence of vacant and abandoned properties have profound negative impacts on afflicted communities. Blighted properties decrease surrounding property values, erode the health of local housing markets, pose safety hazards, and reduce local tax revenue." –HUD, 2018

That’s why Stephen does something about it!

Stephen wants to connect homeowners and small business owners to the grants and funding opportunities they need to Restore & Rebuild properties throughout the city. Stephen has worked tirelessly on renovating over 300 properties. The impact on our community has been tremendous. From lawn mowing and landscaping to renovating properties, Stephen has been an instrumental part of growing our community.

Rebuilding Syracuse Through Small Business!
At the heart of many neighborhoods are their commercial corridors, where small businesses play a critical role. These corridors are the epicenter of local entrepreneurship, employment, and wealth creation, and they provide intangible benefits through services, amenities, cultural identity, and social capital.

–Urban Institute, 2019
